  • Diamond squid, Thysanoteuthis rhombus, juvenile (2 cm), Longdong, Taiwan. This is the first every sighted juvenile diamond squid in Taiwan. A rare shot. When adult it is a huge squid and grow up to one meter in mantle length and weigh up to 30 kg. This unusual cephalopod lives in pair-like relationships so if one is caught by squid fisherman, the other diamond squid will likely remain in the area until it is also caught.<br />
