• A seemingly endless forest cover. Some of it still consists of real, natural old-growth forest, and some is the result of the reforestation and anti-logging policies that were enacted in China between 1998 and 2015, which also included a widespread logging ban in large parts of the country. This has been one of the biggest nature conservation achievements in China over the last 100 years and it has contributed greatly to the comeback and saving of many forest-living species. Here we can see mile after mile, over ridge after ridge of a healthy, unbroken forest cover.

THE NEW MANTA
At the cleaning station Manta Ridge in Raja Ampat, reef mantas, Mobula alfredi, gather daily to receive their beauty treatment. In 2009, the world's researchers realized that the world's manta rays are not just one species, but in fact two: the giant oceanic manta rays, Mobula birostris, and the reef manta rays, Mobula alfredi, shown in this image.
