Rapid coastal development for agriculture, aquaculture and industrial.development are primary drivers of coastal destruction in the region. In addition pollution, harmful algal blooms, invasion of introduced species are having a negative effect. There are 25 intentionally introduced species and 9 unintentionally introduced species in the Yellow Sea marine ecosystem.
