Combtooth blenny, Omobranchus elegans found in the Northwest Pacific ocean. (China 美肩鰓鳚). Range: Northwest Pacific: southern Japan to the Korean Peninsula and the Shantung Peninsula, China. Conservation: The Yellow Sea is one of the most threatened marine areas on earth. Land reclamation has destructed more than 60% of tidal wetlands in only 50 years. Rapid coastal development for agriculture, aquaculture and industrial.development are primary drivers of coastal destruction in the region. In addition pollution, harmful algal blooms, invasion of introduced species are having a negative effect. There are 25 intentionally introduced species and 9 unintentionally introduced species in the Yellow Sea marine ecosystem.
