Wild Wonders of China wants to show that China is one of the most diverse countries on the planet, when it comes to habitats and ecosystems, ranging from the bottom of the ocean, to the peak of Mount Everest, at 8848 metres, the highest mountain in the world. Inbetween, there are steaming rainforests, endless grass steppes, sharp karst mountain ridges, scorching hot deserts and the highest high plateau in the world, the Tibet-Qinghai plateau. The ethnic diversity in China is also impressive, with 56 recognized ethnic groups.
