  • Yunnan bamboo pitviper, Trimeresurus stejnegeri yunnanensis (subspecies), Wuliangshan Nature Reserve, Mount Wuliang Nature Reserve in Jingdong county, Yunnan, China. It is a venomous pitviper subspecies endemic to China, and it is found in southern China , Yunnan and southwestern Sichuan. The species common names for Trimeresurus stejnegeri include bamboo viper, Chinese tree viper, bamboo snake, Chinese green tree viper, Chinese bamboo viper, Stejneger's pit viper, Stejneger's palm viper, red tail snake, Stejneger's bamboo pitviper, Formosan bamboo viper (for T. gramineus formosensis), and Taiwan green tree viper (for T. s. formosensis).

  • Lantern bug, Pyrops candelaria (Laternaria candelaria and Fulgora candelaria in older literature) is a species of planthopper that lives in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Laos, Thailand and other parts of southeast Asia. Conservation: The Yellow Sea is one of the most threatened marine areas on earth. Land reclamation has destructed more than 60% of tidal wetlands in only 50 years. Rapid coastal development for agriculture, aquaculture and industrial.development are primary drivers of coastal destruction in the region. In addition pollution, harmful algal blooms, invasion of introduced species are having a negative effect. There are 25 intentionally introduced species and 9 unintentionally introduced species in the Yellow Sea marine ecosystem.

  • Raindrops from the night’s rain make the thin strings of this spider web more visible. Spiders are not insects which many often think, but an order or their own, Araneae. When you see a spider, you can see that they have 8 legs and not 6, like the insects have.<br />

It is a highly toxic newt native to a small area in Yunnan, China. They like to live in pools and slow-moving streams in subtropical forests at an altitude between 1 000 m to 2 500 metres above sea level.<br />
<br />
The major threat is over-collecting for traditional medicine. Small numbers are ending up in the pet trade, and its habitats are threatened by development for human settlement.

  • Raindrops on the leaves of Sacred Lotus, Nelumbo nucifera, a very well-known plant in all of Asia, and seen as sacred to the followers of several religions, most of all to Taoists, Buddhists and Hindus. It is an aquatic plant with perennial roots that survive over many years (possibly up to a thousand years!). Its seeds also have a remarkable survival capacity, and the oldest seeds that have been proven to be brought to germination were 1300 years old, from North-East China.
